Kitchen Re-modeling Plans

Last year I decided to remodel my kitchen as I am getting bored of its look. I just wanted to give it a very rich and posh look, something glitzy and expensive looking.

There is no doubt that my kitchen is my most favorite place in my home. If somebody says any thing bad about my kitchen I get a bit annoyed and frustrated hence – if I can remodel it to look expensive, then all comments will be nice ones.

I am also though quite concerned as to the costing and I have a limited so I have to find a balance between a great looking kitchen for an economy price – if there is such a thing. So I have prepared a realistic budget, one that should cover my kitchen remodeling at a price I can afford.  Now to start work.

One difficulty now is the decisions I have to make of the many styles available. I just do not know whether to choose one style or another. The most popular of the styles are English Country style, shaker style, French Country style, Arts and Crafts style and many more. How ever the Arts and Crafts style and the Shaker style have been the most attractive to me.

Shaker style is characterized by purity, simplicity, and utility. It beautifully combines simple furniture design with clear crisp lines, and strength.

Arts and Crafts style uses glass doors and natural wood tones with a matte sheen. The style can be eclectic and artistic at the same time.

How ever I decided to go with shaker style as it is simpler. I have got a friend of mine who is professional designer to design the doors and the cabinet for me. I got all the costly material myself from the kitchen remodeling store and am planning to do most of the work myself.

I finished the whole process within two weeks. I am very happy with the out come. It helped being able to purchase ready to assemble flat packs and with little work I was able to assemble the whole kitchen with little help.

I am so happy; my kitchen is now the focus point of my home and certainly attracts a lot of nice comments from my friends. Best of all I did it myself and the budget – well over just a little.
